This enclosed setup presents a unique challenge but also an opportunity to create a distinctive architectural experience. Recognizing that architecture students spend considerable time indoors, particularly in studio spaces, I aimed to bring an enriching non-site experience into the building’s design. To achieve this, the relationship between the interior and exterior environments is carefully crafted. By thoughtfully manipulating solid and void spaces, try inviting the outside environment into the building. This is most evident in the design of the central courtyard, which is intentionally large, serving as a significant void that blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. This design approach allows students to feel more connected to the surrounding environment, enhancing their overall experience within the building.

The building is designed with two major entrances: one facing the road and the other on the west side. These entrances are strategically placed to welcome students from other departments, fostering a dynamic flow of ideas between architecture and other disciplines. This exchange of knowledge and creativity is crucial for the holistic development of students, allowing architectural concepts to permeate into other fields and vice versa.
